A Long Awaited Promise Fulfilled

It was March 25, 2009, when I received the email from Stephanie Ciccarelli…

Dear Dave,

Congratulations! I am pleased to share that you are the winner of the Best Male Voice award as selected by Randy Thomas for the 3rd Annual Voicey Awards!

My reaction… shock and awe. How humbling and exciting that others would think enough of my work to recognize it in this way! And I was promised that the award was being prepared.

Since that day, I have worked in the reality of that. “2009 Voicey Award Winner For Best Male Voice” is (in some form) on my website, email signature, business cards…everything. And I’ve done this with no real tangible “award” to speak of… nothing I could physically see or touch… until today.

I came home today to a package containing the beautiful optical crystal fulfillment of that promise…my actual, physical Voicey Award!

While it is wonderful to finally have it…it served as a reminder to me of another far greater promise and soon coming fulfillment.

The promise:

Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3)

My reaction… shock and awe. How humbling and exciting that the True and Living God would lavish such love on me and want to be with me for eternity! He’s preparing a place for me!

Since the day I heard this and put my faith and trust in Jesus, I’ve been living and walking in the promise of His love. It is etched on my heart and mind.

And what incredible, overwhelming, unspeakable joy will fill my being on that day when I finally cross over and see the fulfillment of that promise…when I am finally able to be with Him….when my faith becomes sight.
